Singapore women's paddlers defeated Nepal 3-0 in the group stage of the team event yesterday before losing 3-1 to Hong Kong.
Hong Kong's world No. 20 Lee Ho Ching beat 11th-ranked Feng Tianwei 3-2 (14-12, 9-11, 11-7, 6-11, 11-8) in the first match, before world No. 13 Doo Hoi Kem pipped 67th-ranked Lin Ye 3-2 (10-12, 11-2, 11-5, 7-11, 11-8) in the second match.
Yu Mengyu, ranked world No. 47, reduced the Republic's deficit by beating world No. 33 Minnie Soo 3-1 (11-8, 11-3, 7-11, 11-4) but Feng then lost 3-1 (11-6, 9-11, 12-14, 7-11) to Doo.
Singapore will face Malaysia and Vietnam today.
